I'm pretty sure TZ told me about his love of Coco Curry House sometime within the first week of us meeting. There was not a time that when he started to tell me about the years he previously lived in Japan, Coco would come up. Taking the train to Tokyo to party, buying beer from the beer vending machines, and Coco-this was his life in Japan, lol. This man LOVES Coco Curry House. And up until about three weeks ago I never understood why...but now I do. And I too will one day be that person who always annoyingly brings up Coco Curry House every time having lived in Japan comes up (sorry family & friends).
In 2010 when we vacationed in Hawaii (ugh, pretentious much? sorry.) TZ took us to a "Coco Curry House". You see, while there is a location in Hawaii, it is nothing like the one here in Japan, it's just not. When we ate here I will blatantly say I was not impressed. "THIS is what he's been hyping up all these years?!"
Fast forward 4+years. Along with all the craziness that came along with this move to Japan was TZ's constant claim of "I can't wait to eat the REAL Coco Curry House!" Ugh, yea, whatever man, I tried that stuff already and I don't know what you're talking about.
But no, TZ you were SOOO right, and I'm here to publicly apologize to you. Coco Curry House is damn good even if it is a "chain" *GASP* and I too would eat their curry every day if it were up to me!
So what's a girl to do when her hubby and kids, and now herself, just can't get enough of curry?! Make it herself, that's what, and that I did.
And when you go from something that is deep fried to something that is oven-baked, um well yea, things definitely change. BUT, considering my version is one that's nutritionally better for you and DID actually taste delicious, cost less, produced amazing left overs and was hubby and kid-approved...well then I say I win :)
